THE END

With our clubhouse in the distance, this is the end of Golf - South Carolina Style. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page to view this blog album from the beginning and click on any image to enlarge it. Thanks for looking!

To the Clubhouse

Now it's back to the clubhouse for an ice tea and sandwich before we head home - and then do this all over again tomorrow - or maybe even this evening!

The 18th Hole

Bob takes his final putt on the 18th hole.

Looking Back

As we headed back to the clubhouse, I had to take one more shot of the course behind us.

More Beautiful Trees

I couldn't stop taking pictures of the trees.

The Next Shot

Bob sets up for his next shot.

Beautiful Trees

The trees on the course are magnificant (at least to those of us who haven't seen huge trees like this for the last 12 years).

Heading Up Hill

We're nearing the end of the course and heading uphill toward the clubhouse.

Water, Grass and Trees

What a beautiful morning it was!

Setting Up

It's a challenge to get the ball over the water.

Brilliant Color

A close-up of another beautiful azalea bush on the course.

Tree Friends

A homeowner applied facial features to the trees in their backyard overlooking the golf course. Creative - and very cute, I thought.

Early Morning Mist

This is another shot of the cart path leading down a beautiful fairway early one morning.

Green Paradise

The course is very pretty in the spring - everything is totally GREEN!

How Far?

We love the golf courses in South Carolina because of the tall, dense, green hardwoods. In Las Vegas the courses were desert - mostly rock and thorny shrubs - no tranquility there!

Under the Dogwoods

The cart path took us under some beautiful foliage.

Beautiful Green

This hole was so pretty with two balls on the green.

Garden Canopy

I had to take this picture of a backyard flower garden and lovely canopied entrance from the golf course.

On the Green

Perfect set-up for a 2-putt.

Me

I don't play golf. I'm the driver of the cart and the photographer right now. But I hit a few balls the other evening and did pretty well, so who knows, I might even take up the game!

Bunker Beauty

Sand traps are not fun, but enjoying the beauty around them is nice.

Colorful Green

The azalea bushes just off the green on this hole were gorgeous.

Tranquility

Another beautiful shot of one of the holes on the course.

Make it Sail

Bob can really hit the ball off the tee - in fact, that's his favorite part of the game - hitting the ball as hard as he can straight down the fairway!

Color

The blossoms in spring are beautiful - especially on the course!

Are We In Germany?

This lovely sight is only a few feet away from our house.

Green

After living the last 12 years in southern California and Las Vegas, we are thrilled with all the green around our house - and the course is beautifully green nearly all year long here.

Gazebo

In this shot, our house is on the other side of the trees in the distance.

Lost Ball?

Oh, oh - I hope Bob didn't lose his ball in the water (he didn't).

Lake View

A view of one of the lakes on the course - this is not our house.

Azaleas

Some of the gorgeous azaleas on the course.

Hmmmm . . .

Bob's contemplating his next shot - golf strategy!

Beautiful Course

This is one of the views on the course - couldn't be more beautiful - until the next hole!

Fairway

This is the fairway behind our house looking toward the putting green. Our house is not pictured as we are located to the right of this shot.

Another View

This is another view of our backyard. We're pretty well protected on the left side of the house with a thick area of trees (previous photo), but there are fewer trees directly in back of us. We just learned that the prior owners of our house, the original owners, took all the trees out so they had a better view of the golf course. I don't think we would have done that if the choice had been ours - partly because the trees protect the house from flying balls.

Our House

This is the back of our house - our backyard is on the golf course.

Let's Play Golf

This is Bob doing his favorite thing in the world - playing golf on the course in our backyard. If he looks a little strange in this picture, it's because he has a golf tee in his mouth - don't ask me why! The photos in this blog were all taken in April 2006.

GOLF- SOUTH CAROLINA STYLE
----------------------------
This is a photo album blog about the golf courses in our neighborhood in South Carolina. One of our goals in life was to someday live on a golf course since Bob, my husband of 40 years, loves to play. We found the perfect place when we moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to South Carolina in December 2005. Our house is located on one of the three courses at our country club, so we see golfers every day, find lots of "lost" balls in and around our yard, and Bob can play almost anytime he feels like it. I don't play (yet), but enjoy walking on the course in the early morning before the first tee times. It's quiet and beautiful - and good exercise too.
